If there was an award for World's Sweetest Couple, Eric and Tizzy would surely be in the running! They celebrated their burgundy and blush fall wedding on a gorgeous, sunny afternoon at Tyler History Center in Downtown Youngstown. The morning of the wedding, I was able to join Tizzy and her bridesmaids at her home while they got ready for the big day. The bridal hair and makeup was ahead of schedule, so the girls got to enjoy some extra time relaxing and enjoying the bride's last moments together before tying the knot.
I love seeing the gifts that grooms give to their brides on wedding mornings! Tizzy opened a gorgeous necklace from Eric to wear during the wedding. It turns out that Tizzy's grandma was in on the surprise, because she even went out of her way to give Tizzy a special decoy necklace so Tizzy wouldn't buy one herself! Finding out how sneaky her sweet grandmother was added so much laughter to our morning. You'll have to ask one of the girls about the Tizzy necklace!
How beautiful is this bride in her flannel shirt?! Tizzy's smile and sparkling eyes could light up a room. If you think she's stunning now, just wait until you see her in the wedding gown!
Great bridesmaids make a huge difference on wedding days, both for the bride, and for the photographers! Having a group of girls who spoil their friend on her wedding day makes my heart happy. These ladies also welcomed me into their tight knit circle of friends for the day so I could capture all the special moments between them and Tizzy.
I love this mother daughter bond!
Eric also had a great morning with his groomsmen as they suited up, hung out at the house, and posed for a few pictures outside with Joel.
All the small details came together perfectly! I never get tired of diamond rings, wedding gowns, sparkly shoes, delicate veils, and bridal jewelry.
I think I need a tissue! I always get drawn into the emotion of a wedding day. This was just one of the many beautiful moments between Tizzy and her mom.
Can I please adopt this grandmother?! She added so much joy to this wedding!
I've always heard that a man will treat his wife the same way he treats his mother. Throughout the day, I saw Eric look at his mom with such great love and respect, and I have a feeling Tizzy appreciated that about her groom long before I did.
Tizzy and her dad planned a first look. We found a quiet room in Tyler History Center, and Tizzy waited for her dad to walk in and see his little girl as a bride. So many tears!
Eric and Tizzy wanted to save their first look for the wedding, but they exchanged love letters before the ceremony.
This was our first time photographing a wedding at Tyler History Center, and it is an amazing Youngstown wedding venue. My favorite part is all the natural light spilling into the windows. Here comes the bride!
The officiant stopped during the ceremony and asked the bride and groom to turn around and look at all the guests who came to support their marriage. For the bride and groom, the wedding day flies by quickly and it is difficult to take everything in. I loved the opportunity that he gave them to slow down and appreciate all the love in the room.
I could stay in that sunlit room for hours! It's a wedding photographer's dream!
With Youngstown State University just down the street, Eric and Tizzy knew they wanted to make a stop at Williamson College of Business and around the YSU campus.
They even made an appearance at the YSU tailgating lot before the football game at Stambaugh Stadium!
The reception was at Byzantine Center at the Grove. One of my favorite parts of the centerpieces were framed quotes about love.
This carved book is amazing!
Thank you so much for inviting us to document this joyful day in your lives. Best wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. Grischow!
