I'm always fascinated by high school sweethearts! Joel and I met during college, when we were (at least attempting to be) adults. I always joke that I'm glad we didn't know each other in our younger, more awkward years, because I don't know if we could have put up with each other's teenage selves as we slowly matured into who we are today. When high school sweethearts like Matt and Vickey have seen each other through all the difficult transitions humans go through to become their adult selves, and grow even more in love with each other over time, I can't help but be amazed by the strength they will bring into their marriage.
Matt and Vickey's engagement session was a journey through their love story. It was an honor to revisit old memories with them and learn about the years and experiences that formed them into the beautiful couple that they are today. Matt and Vickey first met during middle school at Saint Edward's School in Youngstown, Ohio. It began with a friendship, but they took their education and relationship to the next level at Ursuline High School. Now, they are successful professionals about to take on the world together as husband and wife! We started their engagement session where it all began, Saint Edward Family Parish. I love that they will also be celebrating their wedding there next summer! If they only knew back then what they know now!
We also stopped for a walk down memory lane at Ursuline High School in Youngstown. If you ever want to hear what someone is passionate about deep inside, ask them what they liked most about high school.
While we usually go to Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park if we are looking for breathtaking scenery, but Matt's mom had all the beauty we needed right in her backyard. I kill almost every plant we buy, so you can probably imagine how impressed I am by her green thumb! This hidden gem in Youngstown was the perfect place to make some memories during golden hour just before the sunset.
Matt's laugh is contagious! I could feel the joy between these two!
