One of my favorite parts of having my daughter in school and community activities (besides being insanely proud of my daughter) is getting to know her friends and other moms who are in the same season of life with me. Melissa is one of those great moms who I've had the privilege to know as we watch our kids grow and play together. When she asked if I'd photograph a Mommy and Me session, I was thrilled. Moms are never in enough pictures with our kids, since we are usually the ones holding the camera, so this was a special opportunity to document memories that Melissa, her husband, and their children can cherish for a lifetime. We found a big, open field where the kids could run and have fun together. Whenever I'm photographing kids, it's usually the best experience for all of us if we let the kids enjoy being photographed and be themselves. There was no shortage of silliness and laughter from these energetic siblings, so I'd say it was a success!
We had this session right before the 4th of July, so the kids came ready to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic outfits and American flags! We had a blast! It's a wonderful thing to live in a country where we have the freedom for our families to enjoy life and know that our kids have so much potential and opportunity ahead of them. These particular siblings were proud to show off their red, white, and blue!
Thanks to Melissa and kids for allowing me to capture these special memories! Their dad also deserves a big shout out, as he tagged along to help take care of the kids and carry their outfits and props. He is the real MVP for how he adored his beautiful wife as she posed for photos. My next goal with them: a family session! Enjoy the memories!
